this is my favorite chili peppers song... i think that it is obviously about herion, but music also gets him off and lets him fly away(like an airplane). i love this song so much. the line "one note from the song she wrote could fuck me where i lay." yeah that is how i feel about this song... i just want it inside of me haha |

this song is kind of sad, but he is jimmy buffet and he doesn't want to make it sound that way. At the beginning of the song everything is wonderful... he has been on vacation for god knows how long, drinking and laying out in the sun. He may of got out of some kind of relationship, "some people say that theres a women to blame" the first verse he says that "it is nobodys fault." Then in the next few verses his vacation starts to go bad. He is forced to go back home, but still goes for the booze that helps him hang on. He is still trying to drown away his problems with alcohol, but he realizes as the lyrics state "that it's my own damn fault." |

i think this song is about a bunch of people that are unhappy and unsatisfied with their lives and they come to this bar and for the evening everything is ok. my favorite line... "they're sharing a drink they call lonlieness but it's better then drinking alone." No matter how different all these people may be it doesn't matter, because music at the bar helps them escape ther depressing lives and brings everyone together. |
