Not a very deep thinker, are you? I think this song has a lot of meaning, even though it seems that the artist didn't intend it to be so. The doll could resemble his conscience. It always follows him, nagging at him until it annoys the crap outta him. He tries to get rid of it (box in the fireplace), but he can't, because it's him. |

The meaning to this song is so freaking easy to figure out. They practically scream it. It's a reference to Romeo and Juliet. Watch the music video. The realization will hit you like a speeding semi. "Cliche Lyrics" It's right in the title, people. Russian Roulette is a metaphor to describe how he keeps trying to be with 'Juliet', but every time, there's a chance it could all be ruined. Like Russian Roulette. They want to be together, but their parents wouldn't approve. "Hurtful words, from my enemies of the last five years." In the music video, the name of the cafe they're in is called "Capulet's Cafe", Capulet being the last name of Juliet in Shakespeare's well-known play. |
