Lily Allen – The Fear Lyrics 17 years ago
Yeah its a pretty fun song. A half sarcastic look at, and half confession of her life in the public eye. A bit of a stab at some of the more pious celebrities too I'd imagine. Little self-reflection thrown in the chorus too.

Yeah this song seems to be a kind of fractured mixture of biblical references, a demon or devil drawing you into temptation, and pointed anger towards government and social corruption. I guess the whole idea of the song is to point out the obvious flaws in our society and the 'evils' that surround us.

Fear not Christians, the song is not trying to glorify corruption, greed or the deadly sins. It is just what it is - a song about the many imperfections of our world.

I dont believe any of Metallica's music is particularly sac-religious. Even "The God that Failed" just expresses a kind of feeling of betrayal or being let down by the Lord. Even Jesus himself cried out on the cross "father, why have you forsaken me?". I dont believe it to be sac-religious to question ones God, only to deny Him totally. But then again, I used to be a practicing Catholic until i realised that all organised religion is a complete load of shit, so I guess you will have to draw your own conclusions as to whether your soul is doomed or not by listening to Metallica.

I dont know, i think it is quite possible that James does actually sing "Where go I?". You know what his vocal technique is like, he's always adding grunts and drawn out 'eh' 'yeh' 'yaa' kinda things on the end of words. So in recognising that, he might not actually sing 'where do i head?' he might sing 'where go iiiiyeeah' kinda deal... If you get what I'm saying there.
