i don't want to do this song injustice, kevin drew is an amazing poet. certain elements of this song give me the feeling that the writer is trying to preserve a person, a loved one. or, wanting to hold on to the memories of a loved one who, may no longer reciprocate that love, not wanting to let go of those memories you try to keep pieces of them. the whole cocaine skin thing is amazing, maybe the high the one person got from the other. i could go on. the other verses confuse me, i have no imagination. |

i think it has a lot less to do with missing love, but moreso the feeling of being obligated to love somebody just because they've shown you something that you long for. throwing the big shot deal away, is just like accepting the fact that you cant show the person who loves you the same love back. wanting something so much, like love, and feeling that love doesn't measure up to not being able to show it back... it hurts, but you love the pain. you come to dislike this person who loves you because they show you what you can't feel. once you leave that feeling, you begin to miss the affection of love. masocistic. |
