Well this song has always come off from the point of view of someone who has been hurt by another through having hope, only to be let down. I like people who are wrong could you then feel like I do He is aware that his hope is false rooted but cant help it Collossus bestrides the haves and have nots go softly this is being sung for you this song is directed to a dominating person with quite a bit of influence over the singer who has gone back and fourth on their word before wake up wake up the wish you made is plucked go out get up you've done enough enough wake up wake up to take the time to cuss go out get up you've seen enough enough this is the singer reasoning with himself telling him not to put faith in this person, about how its hopeless and he needs to stop letting them control him. he needs to check with reality but cant force himself to do so. do you think that you deserve it? questioning if this person is worthy of his trust. I am waiting here for you looking out across the brooke my hands resting on my chest but still I stare into the night the singer is waiting for this person to change, to make everthing right as they had promised. Nothing changes. this person is making no effort. when the fox hears the rabbit cry he comes running but not to help When the singer talks to this other person the other person seems to care for him, but in reality it is not out of compassion but out of the sadistic joy of watching the amount of pain one can cause another thats just what I always got from the song.
