I've gotten most of "Queen Julia Jackson dropped a zozola brick" figured out. Zozo Labrique was a Voodoo practitioner who preceded Marie Laveau in New Orleans. The word just before Zozo could be "conjured" or "talked to". But calling upon a Voodoo Queen, dead or alive, would proably been enough to do Jump Sturdy in. |

The "down on melba meeting near rattle street" line is actually "down on Melpomene and Erato streets". Melpomene (now Martin Luther King Blvd) and Erato are streets in New Orleans that run parallel to each other about two blocks apart. I'm lost on the "zozola brick" part but I'm doing some research. I think that it will have to do with voodoo (a spell or hex) seing how it killed Jump Sturdy. And also, it's Bayou St. John, not bayou of St. John. |
