| Hmm, tror at det er en lidt politisk sang, men der er ogsaa andre elementer der spiller ind :) | |

:) Well here is what I think. FYI, I checked on wikipedia and Brandon Flowers is quite religious. THis doesnt mean anything to me, and I dont think this is what the song is about, but just so that we got that straightened out. You sit there in your heartache Waiting on some beautiful boy To save you from your old ways You play forgiveness Watch it now, here he comes The SHE seems like a person with a shattered confidence. Caught up in her own lonliness, sick of herself (her old ways) she is waiting on a truly good person to save her and not care about her faults and mistakes. He doesn't look a thing like Jesus But he talks like a gentlemen Like you imagined when you were young He does not seem like your average Savior, not holy or pure, but he is still a good person who can make her feel better. Which is what she really had forgotten was what she wanted. Can we climb this mountain? I don't know Higher now than ever before I know we can make it if we take it slow Let's take it easy Easy now, watch it go I think this doesnt just apply to relationships. I think it is more about overcoming their personal obstacles together. Fx her low self asteem, which I think is one of her issues.THe getting higher means getting a better and more clear view on things. He is basically opening her eyes/helping her. We're burning down the highway skyline On the back of a hurricane that started turning When you were young When you were young Her issues, or potential as i might be, is something she has had since she Was Young, and now they are doing something about it. And sometimes you close your eyes and see the place where you used to live When you were young (Since I have moved a bunch, this part appeals to me. It might also cause me to understand it as I want to but I'm gonna try decoding it anyways.) She is thinking back to The Beginnig of her problems and still the place she was happy. The place where she was more comfortable. They say the devil's water, it ain't so sweet You don't have to drink right now But you can dip your feet Every once in a little while She has travelled far, my guess' not physically but personally/mentally, and she is now tired, but she doesnt wanna stop, although it might have been a rough ride. She is still stuck in her problems (the devils water). right now she doesnt have to (1) accept them or (2) maybe think about them-I'm not sure ( you dont have to drink right now). (but you can dip your feet) means (1)- pause in them a bit before the hard part begins: trusting herself, gaining confidence, solving her problems. or (2) letting her negative thoughts being something she can hold on to. I know it sounds wierd or wrong, but messed up people are not unlikely to stick with their depressed feelings since it is easier. (every once in a little while) only if you have to. I said he doesn't look a thing like Jesus He doesn't look a thing like Jesus But more than you'll ever know He doenst look like a savior, but it is still so much closer than you would belive. Now I think I acidentally de-coded it wrong so it would match with the sadness or despair I sometimes feel, but oh well :) |
