This to me is one of the most emotional and beautiful things. I always thought it was completely 'BEEN over this' and never 'AND over this'.. but anyway, I think it means something keeps happening over and over and it's getting tiring. It's obvious when he says "so over this" as in, I'm so over this. |

The part that means the most to me is just where he says "I don't wanna feel this overwhelming hostility" Certain lines like that, especially when sung with emotion like Maynard does..yeah, they really get to me. |

This song is what I felt like nearing the end of this long drawn out mess I put myself into. It all centered on religion and me trying to be something I'm not (i.e, religious). I swear, most of Mer De Noms is like that horrible relationship I was in, kind of split into the stages of it. This one was me trying to be Christian when it didn't work, kind of just ''praying for visions to show me the way''. I wanted to see what the Holy Spirit would show me, and I got nothing, so all the pressuring to become religious like he and his family didn't make me feel slightly good. I like the 'show me the way to forgive' thing, too. I wanted to forgive god, if there was one, for death and all the bullshit, but he/she didn't even let me feel what I was apparently supposed to feel in church...so why forgive or even acknowledge him/her? Brena - it was beautiful at first, I thought he was helping me Thomas- me trying to be religious Over- me, remembering I tried to be religious before, I start to realize this doesn't work for me 3 Libras, Orestes,Sleeping Beauty- realizing it needs to end Judith- me realizing I hate he and his family so much for manipulating me into thinking I should change Rose- being strong and staying away from him for good, not going to get sucked back in |

Whenever I star to regret ending it with you, I remember this part: I am, I will, so no longer Will I lay down, play dead, play your doe In the headlights, locked down and terrified, your Deer, in the headlights, shot down and horrified when Push comes to pull comes to shove comes to step around this Self-destructive dance that never would've ended till I rose, I roared aloud here I will, I am and it gets me over it pretty fast. I think that's the point of most APC songs. Anything difficult in life can be related back to this somehow. A breakup, recovering from an addiction, an abusive relationship, an abusive parent, being judged by someone and standing up for yourself..even recovering from a disease or fighting it can relate.. This song is powerful, and it makes people realize how strong they are for overcoming something that's tough to fight. APC's stuff has probably saved lives. |

This to me is a father or mother singing to their son about never wanting him to be stained by the evil of the world. I think it's beautiful. It can be interpreted as political, but this is the best meaning to me. :) I'll be singing this one to my kids when I have them. |
