okay, this is pretty insane, but it makes sense i think this song is about abstinence. he wants to abstain from sex with this girl, but she wants to do it. so, "Where is your hand to guide me, close by mine Another dead end No, not this" he wants her to guide him, but to get too close is to reach a dead end. "Will she be waiting to pull me up to the sun?" will she wait for him, so that he can reach heaven? "Lost in a one track mind Stopping the chance to take ourselves" their one track mind - sex-driven he tries to stop the chance for them to take their virginity "She can't be much further... As the day rests, The sun fades, into my eyes She floats around inside my empty head Searching for " shes starting to intimidate him, and when he forgets about heaven, he thinks about her and searches for a way out. "The smell is so faint But it must be the one My bones ache, From the cold" is she the one for him, thats what hes asking himself hes tired of resting in sin. "Do I have the strength To go on Smoke begins to fill my head But still I press on" hes asking himself: can he make it? he starts to become filled with lust, but he still keeps going. it repeats the deeper lyrics, and then: "Shes waiting Shes waiting Shes waiting I feel her Shes waiting" shes waiting for him, and he feels a stronger love for her now. i know its crazy but thats always the way i look at it, and it makes perfect sense. |
