Alkaline Trio – Jaked On Green Beers Lyrics 17 years ago
I fucking love the title of this song, it reminds me of good st. patricks day memories. I agree with the comment below me about it being a perfect song to drop a subtle hint to a soon to-be ex.

I have been listening to ALK3 since they first came out and they still amaze me with their music. The new cd is good and I think it will be one of their more popular main stream cd's. I do not think they have sold out in any way, even though they have moved towards a more radio friendly sound, which I despise most main stream music, but trio will always be one of my favorite bands. Their lyrics have always hit home with me and have helped me through some tough times. I am a huge fan of metal music but mainly death metal and yet I still love ALK3. I hope this cd has mainstream success for them, they deserve it after all of these years.

This is one of my favorite songs along with goodbye forever, all on black and old school reasons.

ALK3 still kicks ass

Alkaline Trio – I Found Away Lyrics 17 years ago
The song references Dante Alichieri....he wrote Dante's Inferno. Skiba had started Transcendental meditation around the time when they started writing for Agony and Irony, which he felt helped him get through "his journey through hell". In Dante's Inferno it talks about a journey through hell, which Skiba uses as a metaphor for his personal problems with women, alcohol and depression.

Also I like the line "In the dead of that night...Like the summer of Sam". I think skiba is using the line as a metaphor for fear and extreme heat...as in a Hell? The summer of 1977 in NYC was known to be unbearably hot and full of fear due to the son of sam killings.

p.s.- The title of the new cd is so bad ass and yet it is funny. It is a play on words from Paul McCartney's song title "Ebony and Ivory"

Alkaline Trio – Fuck You Aurora Lyrics 17 years ago
They are singing about a town named Aurora, IL. Dan Andriano had a friend who died in a car accident in the town of aurora, he was driving a Chrysler...hence the line "You wont catch me behind the wheel of a Chrysler ever again." In the song it goes onto explain how Dan went onto drink heavily blaming himself for the accident. I am confused about the line "And although it's all my fault, the blaming myself had to come to an end".? I am thinking maybe the friend was drunk when he crashed and perhaps he called dan to pick him up but Dan didn't,so he drove drunk, hence why Dan felt guilty?
