| Manic Street Preachers – Peeled Apples Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| A friend of mine once remarked to me that apples seem to last forever, but as soon as you take the skin off they turn brown almost immediately, and it was sort of funny because the skin tastes awful. | |
| Manic Street Preachers – La Tristesse Durera (Scream To A Sigh) Lyrics | 17 years ago |

You can buy a cheap plastic poppy for as much as you like, even a nickel, on rememberance day here in Canada. Old vets sit sadly at cheap card tables staring into space trying to get people to stick money in the bucket so that they can afford to do it all again next year. Yeah, I can hear this song in my head every year. It's a sight more honest than "in Flander's fields the poppies blow" or whatever it is. |

| Manic Street Preachers – Your Love Alone Is Not Enough Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
I love it when such sad songs become such wonderful pop songs. I like to think of it as a general statement about belief in general. Love alone is not enough....whether it be romantic love, patriotism, religion, friendship, anything. Life is a lot more complex than just love, and "love" is such a vague, nebulous word to begin with. |
