Best I can tell, it goes along the lines of what riaffoon wrote. Seems like it starts with him in hell, as a metaphor to his life as a satanist. Since he is supposedly now into meditation it seems that he has 'found how to get away'. Also, when it says 'that look on your face....scared the living hell straight out of me!" Sounds like somebody in particular scarred him straight and away from his former methods. It's not safe don't follow me seems to refer to how he is not recommending it for anybody else....to get out of hell, because it was a brutal journey. OR, since I don't know many 'former' satanists that still have pentagrams on their guitars and still sell merchandise with upside down crosses on it (and amps with name tags that say "Matt" in a heart with the upside down cross on the top of it...this song is about how his journey into hell was his salvation. It works for him, but it's not pretty so it's not safe, don't follow him...basically saying, it's not for the faint hearted but he still likes it. In reality, it's probably about absolutely nothing except for to make nerds like us sit here and analyze the hell out of it! LITERALLY! HAHA! |

Good song, but the acoustic version is better. Has an extra verse at the end and a better flow. For those who haven't heard it, it does the first 2 verses in a row with no chorus. Then it has the chorus and some of the better lyrics in the song... Tomorrow night, This tragedy, Will be filed under distant memory, I bit my tongue, And I let it bleed, I've never been big on originality Good stuff! |
