i see this song in TWO ways: 1)i agree with everyone on the whole breaking up thing. that DEF clearly works. 2)i also see it in another way... i think it can also be about two people cheating or trying not to cheat. The singer wants to cheat (or has cheated) on their BF/GF with the person they are singing the song to. He has feelings for this person. He thinks its best that he doesn't talk to them anymore bc of the temptation and problems it can/will cause for him and his GF/BF. for example: This is probably the best, not to mention the worst idea, that I have ever had. AND We say what we feel, Then we stop ourselves, And just walk away. |

i agree with most of the posts on here. i think it can be looked at two ways: 1) expressing love for someone you are in a relationship with 2) being in love with someone who you aren't with (and you MAY or MAY NOT eventually be with them for w/e reason) |

| I looked at it a different way. I see the singer being in love with someone who doesn't want anything to do with him romantically. They used to be friends and/or lovers. But things have changed and the singer is saying it is too hard for him to be around the other person because he still has feelings for them. | |

damn, this song is amazing. Surprised there's only 2 comments so far! I also like Anarchitect interpretation. I'm not so great at interpreting songs, but i guess however someone interprets the song for themselves, then thats good enough. With that said, I'm still unsure of the meaning, but the sound is awesome. I stand on the edge of a broken sky, And I'm looking down, don't know why. And if I should fall, would you hold me? Would you pass me by? Ooh, you know I'd ask you for nothing, Just to wait for a while. Love this part. I think its somewhat self explanatory. | I like everyones take on this song. It's such an amazing song by an amazing group. I agree with drietovenares saying its when you realize life isn't all fun and games. It's about a difficult time when something is wrong or bad in your life (whatever it may be). I also think it can be about homosexuality. Being bisexual, I can relate and like that take on it. However, I don't feel "wrong" about it, but I'm sure some people do, specifically very religious homosexuals. | |

My fave song so far on Circus!! Really great album from what I've heard so far =) i agree with bananapancakes for the most part on this one. To me, its about a girl who has a boyfriend that she is still engaged to. She completely forgets about this boyfriend when thinking about the other guy in the song. She gets nervous and can't think straight whenever she is around him or even when she thinks about him. She forgets that its her boyfriend that gave her the engagement ring...instead she wishes it was this other guy. She wants to end things with her boyfriend to be with this guy instead. She didn't realize it was over and that she no longer want to be with her boyfriend until her new love interest says he can't forget about her. At this moment, she knows he feels the same as she does and wants to be with him, instead of her fiance |
