Fastball – Vampires Lyrics 16 years ago
It would be a good song to get married to.

I sorely regret posting the above... it's drivel.
I'm not even sure that I like this song anymore. And here I am talking to myself. *sigh*
Rate it badly, I sure as hell did.

Strut and sneer; hate socialite scum.

The Dandy Warhols – Nietzsche Lyrics 16 years ago
Thirteen Tales from Urban Bohemia consummated my love for the Dandy Warhols. Nietzsche takes me on a journey, whatever that may be at the time, then Country Leaver comes on and I crack up laughing.

Soundgarden – Mind Riot Lyrics 17 years ago
Nice thoughts here about the possibility of these lyrics containing a tribute to Andrew Wood.
Who knows. It definitely is a song dealing in feelings of futility but I also find it rousing after a dark fashion, like a long, grinding "Fuck You!" to everything that steals the beauty from this world.
The language Chris uses here is soulful and disturbing, absolutely A-grade stuff.

Fastball – You're An Ocean Lyrics 17 years ago
I always like to think these words are about the glory of love and the differences between men and women (specifically how problems within a relationship are naturally approached cognitively by each gender) with a couple of more personal lines tossed in perhaps.
Guys need an island to sit and think on, this may make them seem isolated from the situation, which can sometimes become the case, especially if they are forced to share their thoughts before they are ready to. In which case, if a great love it is, they usually tend to become confused and sell themselves short of the progress they actually could achieve if given a little more time to ponder things. I'm hesitant to act like I know something about women but since to my mind this song seems to have a little less to say on their perspective than the male, I'll venture that girls can also sell themselves short by riding that 'stormy sea of love and emotion', often, also, to a less than desirable conclusion.

Stone Temple Pilots – Crackerman Lyrics 17 years ago
This song feels like the need to escape to me. I think that a lot of the lyrics that Scott writes are just words placed on the page with only half-a-mind given to some sort of story or meaning. These words convey desperation to me, the lovely thing is, and this is what I love about Stone Temple Pilots, is that the music itself is very freeing and purposeful.
When I listen to this song I always have to get up and dance around like a nut.
Wet My Bed being placed just before this as it is, means that I usually take the two and listen to them together, the apathy and sense of loss present in Wet My Bed evened out in Crackerman.
