Bouncing Souls – Punks In Vegas Lyrics 16 years ago
The Bouncing Souls named this songs "Punks in Vegas" because of a Souls show back in 2002.

They were scheduled to play at a bar called Hurricane Harry's with Alkaline Trio and Lawrence Arms. The show was supposed to be all ages but something happened and the show ended up 21+, so all the under 21 folk stayed out in front of the venue and watched the show through the front door (they didn't announce the change at all so we all went up that night expecting to see the show). The owner wouldn't all any of the bands to play sets acoustic outside the bar and called the cops on those of us waiting outside (though the cops ended up not kicking us out).

The Souls said on their website a few days later they would make it up to the fans by naming a song after us and this was it.

The Gaslight Anthem – Great Expectations Lyrics 17 years ago
"What's the song from 1962?"

I heard Fallon in a radio interview say that the line in the song is a reference to Bob Seger's "Night Moves," which has the line "Started humming a song from 1962."

The 1962 song Seger is referring to in "Night Moves" is "Be My Baby" by the Ronettes.
