This song is about giving everything you have to God because people expect everything from him and fail to give anything in return. The writer is offering everything he has and to change his ways as he realizes how much he needs God and how important a good relationship with God is. Convienently this song can also be interpreted as talking about a relationship where the guy wants to give all he has to the girl who he can't live without... but yeah, when would that ever happen... |

| I think this song is about two people who have been friends, but one has recently changed into someone different that drinks more and is getting into different things. The writer is complaining about her "new head filled up with smoke" and criticizing her drinking while also saying "[she] is everything [he's] not." So as she is changing and drinking more and probably making new friends and kind of drifting away from him he is vowing to never let her "get too far from [him]." He wants to "break her down so badly," and make her remember him and how it used to be because now he "trips over everything [she says]." To me, this song is about a guy who is probably in love with a girl who has always been just a friend and now as she starts to break away from him and move on he is desperately trying to keep up and keep her around. | |
