This is my favorite song ever! Regina is by far one of the greatest artists of the century, because most mainstream singers/songwriters are mostly remembered for their personna. Regina is one of those songwriters who are remembered for their craft. ANd how well she is at it. |

I agree with savian... It makes more sense... Specially being that Regina sings about a wide array of different situations, and not always about being heartbroken and such. I just wonder what this means: "Scarecrow and fungus, they ran through a stoplight But it didn’t matter cause no one was hurt Scarecrow and fungus, they ran through a stoplight But it didn’t matter cause they were on foot" could it be that they met on accident while walking?! lol I dunno... |

I love this song, obviously... ha! I want to let you know what I think this part means: "And it was raining cats and dogs outside of her window And she knew they'd be destined to become sacred roadkill on the way And she was listening to the sound of heaven shaking thinking about puddles, puddles and mistakes" So detailed that I think she meant to explain, how it was storming outside when they had sex, and that she knew this wouldn't make things better in her life, and she was, while making the baby, thinking solely on how this was just another mistake... It is probably two teenagers, definitely financially struck, and they play with matches cause that's all they knew how to do. Meaning matches, as probably mating. this part: "and she thought about this irony as she stared back at the moon She was tracing her years with her fingers on her skin saying, Well, why don't I begin again" It might mean that, like most pregnant women, stretchmarks are a remnant of pregnancy, and by reading them through braille she just wants to start from the beginning. |
