My interpretation is that the girl is cheating on the guy. Take "I've been down the wrong road tonight, and i swear I'll never go there again" for instance. That's the girl talking, and she's been cheating on him, and she's done it before,as seen in the guy saying "I've seen this face once before, and I don't think I can do this again". And he thinks she's going to do it again, "and there's nothing I can say, 'cause I'm never gonna change your mind". At the same time however, he doesn't want to break off the relationship because he loves her, "As you turned and walked away, I saw another look in your eye. And even though it hurt like it did, I couldn't let this be your goodbye". Also, he's having serious doubts about any faithfulness in the future, "You say that your sorry, and you say now that it hurt you the same. Is there something here to believe? Or is it just another part of the game." A sad song, because it reflects so many relationships in todays society, marriage or cohabitant's, or just average guy-girl adolescent relationships. |

This song is about love. It is about both aspects of love i think. It's about the emotional, erotic, and physical sides of love-namely, sex. But it is also about the commitment of love between two lovers, think of the lyrics, "Love will lead us, alright, Love will lead us, she will lead us". It is perhaps talking about this person being the one true love that he wants to spend the rest of his life with. It is a fantastic song, because it encompasses all the sides of love. The verses themselves are very erotic indeed, "Laid me down into your rose garden of trust", and "You wrap your legs around me". But I believe the chorus speaks on a much deeper note then these. Whatever the interpretation, it is a beautiful love song. |

Makes me think of the most romantic night ever. A dance with the person you love under the moon. Gorgeous lyrics, sung with passion and longing by Van Morrison, one of the greatest voices in rock, even though its a jazzy song. A nice, soft, jazzy swing with sparse instrumentation. Fantastic piano and sax solos. Perhaps one of the most romantic, sexiest songs ever recorded. Gets me excited for my wedding night ;) Probably gonna be my first dance :) |
