First time I heard this song I started thinking of my two best friends, not to mention the guy I have a crush on. I think this song is about losing someone and thinking about the good and bad times they've been through together. I guess they're now trying to get over that loss and get on with their life, but they're still hurting inside. I dunno, just my opinion. Every time I hear this song I wonder what it'll be like without anyone to talk to during the weekends or fool around with. Point is; lyrics are great. Beat is great. Song is great. This song, in my point of view, has two meanings; 1st would be about suicide, and 2nd would be about someone trying to control him. The first verse, it seems like she's stopping him from living or being himself. "I try to make it through my life, In my way, there's you I try to make it through these lies, And that's all I do" And yet in the bridge it sounds like something bad has happened and that person is in denial. "Just don't deny it, Don't try to fight this, And deal with it, And that's just part of it" Rest of the song pretty much speaks for itself. He doesn't care wether or not the people he loves die or not. |

This song affects me so baldy it's scary. But all in all, personally, I think this song is about someone having a dream that he was gone (or that he died, either way) and that not many people cared, 'cause he was considered a bad person. After this, he woke up and realized that this dream might come true, and he doesn't want that to happen. "I dreamed I was missing You were so scared But no one would listen Cause no one else cared After my dreaming I woke with this fear What am I leaving When I'm done here" He's also telling that person that he feels like he's suffered enough, and he needs that someone's help. "Don't be afraid I've taken my beating I've shared what I made I'm strong on this surface Not all the way through I've never been perfect But neither have you" In this part, he's telling the person that he wants him/her to stop pretending that everything will be alright, and that he knows that person has suffered the same problems as him. "Forgetting All the hurt inside You've learned to hide so well Pretending Someone else can come and save me from myself I can't be who you are" So he's telling someone close to him, that when he dies, he wants that person to forget what he had done wrong, and he wants to have a reason for people to mourn his death. Plus he's telling the other one that whenever he/she feels lonely and isolated to think about them, and leave out all the other memories. | I personally agree with Shenn. This song pretty much symbolizes a person's struggles in life. I think that it’s really about someone trying to figure out the special reason God sent him to Earth, and that he’s trying to make a difference by sacrificing himself for the people he loves. That’s probably the reason why it’s called “Unknown Solider”. At least, that’s from my point of view. Amazing lyrics too. =) | |
