Do you think this is some clue as to where the Soothsayer is? I wouldn't think it would be in the lyrics if there was a clue because Cedric didn't want Omar to tell him where he buried it. But then again they like to collaborate together when writing lyrics. I think if it were anywhere it would be a carefully placed guitar lick heard only when Cedric sings a line about a location. The guitar lick could be likened to numbers and then translated through simple numerology into letters and then an actual location. Although, they may not have wanted the location to be disclosed. To anyone. Least of all us hungry un-trustworthy fans. |

Because I paid with own touch now I bought a little cut There is blood for every month This is where I first noticed the mechanical noises in the background. Being a songwriter myself, I have used a similar line in reference to the bleeding of months. This isn't another reference to the females. That would just be redundant at this point in the album. Using a ouija board can mentally exhaust you. "paid with my own touch" You exchange your psychic energy for the answers. "I bought a little cut" In buying Soothsayer, he has cut himself. A cut differs from a gouge. At this point things are happening to them that are at most, inconvenient. Hence, "little cut". "There is blood for every month" With each passing month, the blood poured into Soothsayer has pooled and collected. Goliath has become stronger and will soon make himself more real that a slowly bleeding cut. I've noticed throughout this song the time line jumps around a lot. He goes from remembering how he came to be so enthralled with Soothsayer and back to the present. |
