To me it seems like she is about to die and her life is flashing before her eyes. Open up the night. Led by just a feeling. All around is light. Everything is healing Open up the night, the night being a metaphor for the end of yoru life, the next two lines are the light at the end of the tunnel expresion, while all the pain is presumably going away, in the line Everything is healing. No more fate and no more mystery. Even as time falls away I live my days every moment and its memory, not only to survive: to die alive. The first line is that she has met her fate and there is no more mystery about death, she is indeed dieng, as everything falls away, as she departs her body so to speek she sees her life flash before her eyes, and she is remembering it. Overwhelming love, heaven's just a feeling. Singing in my blood keeping me from kneeling. She goes up to heaven and feels the overwhelming love of god, and its just a feeling... and the rest of the song is essentaly just repeating from this. |

| Taking it at face value, she is indeed a vampire, and some mortal man probably loves her and she, or atleast im assuming it, loves him, and has just told him this. The word Perdition means eternal damnation, she is saying on his road to eternal damation, ie becoming a vampire, she well see him again, and as the dawn aproaches she is turning into mist and being swept away by the wind telling him to choose if he will or will not become a vampire and love her etc etc, that is essentaly the meaning of the song verbaly, but metaphoricaly it can be interpeted many different ways, such as in forbiden love, truely its a beautiful song and probably my favorite off my winter storm. | |

| To me it seems as if there is a girl and a guy who met up at, what im assuming to be a party of some sort although it really dosnt matter, and they were old lovers from years back, again the exact time period dosnt really mater. Anywho she is now either married or in love with someone else and he is still in love with her, and her lover for him has not completly died. It seems to me as if they she cheats on her lover with him when she is drunk or what not. Its really a beautiful song. Really people who say this song has no meaning are ignorant, I have found that some people love nightwish others hate them I have acepted this, and as for classification there isnt a genre that will do them justice, as they themselves have stated. | |
