I think these lyrics are the most telling of the true meaning of the song: "Hold me close enough to drink my rose The devil in my pocket turn to go Sorry if you want it You're in a daze Tonight, I love you But tomorrow go away" I don't think this is just about a woman trying to find Mr. Right at all. This is about a woman who has control and a power over men. She wants these men to want her and hold her close and the devil in her gives it the go. She'll love them for that one night but then tomorrow she's ready for the next guy. The men are tossed and used. |
