| Bob Dylan – Heart of Mine Lyrics | 16 years ago |
i always get the feeling his heart is the excited jovial music because the lyrics are trying to persuade his heart not to open up to this girl but love cant be tamed and i think the music is so mirthful compared to the lyrics. what a poet though |

| Fightstar – Floods Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| this intro blows me away every single time. | |
| Fightstar – Follow Me Into The Darkness Lyrics | 16 years ago |
the ending is just fantastic. the piano is quite simple but so effective. not really sure what the song is about but its amazing and fightstar are possibly one of the most underrated bands out there. they are talented musicians |

| Tom Waits – Fish & Bird Lyrics | 16 years ago |
What a beautiful fable about a love affair that can never happen. the whole stanza about the ocean turning into a mirror and the whale in the moon and the bird on the tide shows that they can make belive that they are together and its pure poetry. so tragic there is also the possibility that the sailor is reminiscining about a romance that happened in the "world that was so far away" so it could be about a long distance relationship. the final verses are definitely a lover talking to someone that they are leaving but dearly love. "I'll always pretend that you're mine" shows the love and the line "promise that you will wait for me" could be distance but also could be that they'll love each other until they die and meet in heaven. over all this is a experimentally beautiful portrayal of love that can never be |

| Tom Waits – Poor Edward Lyrics | 16 years ago |
this song is way deeper than just being about the Edward Mordrake story. it is wreathed in the same theme of obsession that is in many of the "alice" tracks. though truly horrifying are the images of a man with a face on the back of his head the "was it a woman's face or a young girl" line suggests he can never escape from the one he loves but can never have and it just leads to madness and tragedy. the entire song is just an eerie metaphor beautiful haunting song. |

| The White Stripes – Icky Thump Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I love the whites stripes will all my heart and soul... but this is dreadfully overrated. how this was the biggest hit on the album amazes me. the guitar is nice but i cant stand the organ thing. |
| The White Stripes – I'm Bound to Pack It Up Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Lovely little song about breaking up with a girl. Pretty self explanatory. The fact hes leaving on a bus with a hundred people is symbolic for the fact that break ups happen all the time and he is "just another running away" |
| The White Stripes – Dead Leaves And The Dirty Ground Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Possibly the greatest song from the greatest band of all time. Its a love song and Jack is just saying how much the girl means to him the melodious lyrics and the merciless guitar work so well together. It is a masterpiece and nothing more remains to be said. |

| Bullet for My Valentine – Hearts Burst Into Fire Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Being far away from the one he loves, and he misses her like crazy, but when he sees her face his "Hearts burst into fire". Beautiful desciption of joy and how being so far away although heart breaking is worth the wait. He has doubts that his love will still feel the same if he is so far away but when he sees her face his Hearts Burst into Fire" Very Bonita |

| HIM – For You Lyrics | 17 years ago |
This song is my favourite from HIM. The love of my life lives very far away and this song reminds me of her a lot. because no matter how much the relationship hurts i am fully for her. My heaven is wherever she is. Valo is talking about true love which overcomes all pains. awesome |

| The Cure – The Drowning Man Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| One of the greatest cure songs. They truly portray a sense of pure hopelessness in the intruments. I think its all really about depair and loneliness. A girl kills herself because she feels so alone and she fails to see all the good things in her life (One by one the bright birds leave). She sinks into the water but regrets her decision, but the water, like her unescapable loneliness "drowns her at its ease". the final verse is the most haunting as it tells of a man who loved the girl and would have died to save her. He is left as helpless and lonely as she was, "Breathing like the drowning man". All the dreams flee from him. Absolutly wonderful stuff. | |
| The Cure – Subway Song Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Never before have i seen a song that can create such a wonderful story with so few words. It is brilliantly left up the the listener's imagination. | |
