Found this interesting Spanish translation: "I want you" literally comes out to "te quiero" which is "I love you". In the guise of a ditty, I think this song overlays the concept of "egoic" wants and mish-moshes that with self-centered-love...shallow love, watered down love as it were. Is there anything more ego-maniacal than "I wasn't born to lose you"(...only have you)? A prior poster caught this and I think it's brilliant take on the other side of the coined phrase "born to be with you". Self satisfying wants and "loves" are only temporary, not satisfying...so goes the ego...all the while "true love" - God's love- is felt, experienced, not thought about. |

Honor to be the first post on one favortite songs by one my favorite artists! Buffalo River Home Taking off...landing...airport's closed. Dreamer or willfully ignorant…or detached? Running wild and free..drinking, not in in self-medication way...but in fuel for the journey way and unknowingly-dull-the-senses-way. All the while the paint peels...time marches on...no rider in the flesh and bone: I see that as void of spirit, soul, “life force”, an empty vessel as it were. At the very least a partially filled vessel~ hole in my soul. Hits the big city wide eyed and bushy tailed...end up pounding the pavement in daddy-o's wing tips. Forgets all two of life's lessons...still dreaming...yet life's grand and full of surpirses for this guys, as the beareded lady's trick is worth the price of admission and then some, so you enlist, let that pony ride...void of driver. |
