Well one I know that jeremy wrote this about his dad or grandpa one because he even dedicates to him on the cd! And two I am almost positive that this is what the song means: "Are we Are we just selfish For wanting to keep you Where we are Just where you left us You're seeing all the things I'd die to see (all the things I'd die to see" - are we (the people here on earth) selfish for wanting to keep you (the loved one who passed) here in this place that he left us at which is awful compared to where he is at now in heaven with the Lord! He is seeing everything we'd die to see heaven which there is only one word to describe it PERFECT, and seeing God in all His wonder and beauty! "Everybody finds it necessary To say how much you loved me As if I didn't know so deeply" - this one is pretty easy to figure out. I mean there are just peaople around telling him how much his dad or grandpa loved him as if he didn't already know that so well! "Can you see Evidence of perfection Look past the circumstance And find some meaning Find some meaning" - can you see that He is in the midst of perfection see that He is with God now and thast God knows what He is doing. Look past the fact that he is gone and that you miss him and all that and find that it is ok, he is happier now and that again God knows what He's doing, He has a plan even if we can't see it! "If only this song could capture The peace you are seeing If only this song could capture The hope we are seeking" - if only the words in the song could describe and capture the grace, beauty, and peace that he is seeing up in heaven right now, the same thing that we all seek! "Just love me and let me sleep" - And I believe this line is supposed to be like the one who has passed speaking, saying "Just love me and let me sleep" you know? Just let me rest here, I'm happy and in a much better place! |
