Yall are clueless. Jeremy got into the music biz because of a relationship that went downhill when he was 17. he wrote this song for the girl and burned the lyrics/chords after he made a shitty recording. 2 people heard it (himself and a friend i think) later down the road he professionally had it recorded for his own behalf. it got leaked and he was PISSED it was an important personal thing. It's regrettable that it was such a personal song because I'd be willing to say that this is there best slow song and I'd kill to hear it live. Anyhow, that's the legit story on the song. call bullshit if you want i know its the truth. |

06-28-2005 i saw this song all over purevolume and i kinda liked it, but i think its about regreting a bad relationship where he wasted his time, and basically its just a nother emo band with "deep" lyrics that dont mean shit yo quite honestly i dont give a shit if you never read this because im pretty sure you wont but scary kids is a fucking world away from emo, so get your shit straight before you bight off more than your punk ass can chew. oh wait you already did. bitch. |

i can relate amazingly well to this. (i hate these kind of comments normally lol) I toured for about a month on the east coast about a year back and it cost me so much more than it was worth. I almost made my "break" that woulda made it worht it but i missed it by that much.... it cost me my girlfriend of 3 years, almost cost me and amazing job. but in the end i think the overall meaning of the song is that you have to live each day like your last and decide what means most to you and when the time is rite to throw in the towel. very deep song. infact. ONLY a metalcore band could write a song like this. its impossible for any other band to write an acoustic song this mooving. staind did it with ephiphany, and may more here is an amazing example. escape the fate did a good one (the day i left the womb) and there are tons more the all escape me rite now but you get the point. |

| they liked it. stick that one to your juicebox. they said in an interview that they felt honored that a "large" band wanted to cover one of their songs, and keep it within roughly the same sound. if you look at the soundpath its almost identical, and all the chords are the same... just with a different interpretation. so know that you know a little bit more about it feel free to bash. but you should have your facts and be ready to fight it to the death if you wanna talk shit about a band or a song. | |

we've got the "ill rip that scandalous" part. Bitch's and bitch in sound the same when you scream so it wouldn't be bitch's in your right. but the "in" kinda mashes in with bitch. HOWEVER. its also hard to tell if it's "we'll bring the noise" ive always thought it was "we'll breathe tonight" which would tie into throat. download audacity if you dont already have it and slow down the parts where your confused and listen a few times without an idea of what the lyrics should be. it helps. |

For lack of knowing exactly who the song was written by/for (we all assume alex but it could be anybody close to him (maybe a good friend)) so I'm just gona use assume this is for/by alex. "So here, we are again The same fork in the road I hate you. You love me. This story's getting old" Basic scene setting..... "they" get in another fight (so here we are again) and Alex is getting realy sick of it all. (We've all been right there with him...) "The day that, I opened up You shut me out for good" Alex has tried to stay with her. He has devoted himself to the relationship. She wants no part in it any more.((this part is kinda iffy) "Forgive, Forget, Fuck you You are a liar and a whore" The easyest way to explain that one is to paraphrase it "forgive and forget but im done with it...'you are a liar and a whore'" "So take what you want and leave You'll never get another part of [me]"< brandon deffinatly doesnt say "me" I took it as brandon singing from the POV of the girl in this situation.... so from there she is saying "get away from me i want nothign to do with you anymore" coming into the seccond verse we are just leaving the breakup (a few hours later) "I remember the day that I thought I would be free I poured out my soul to you, Exposed everything," Alex is at a bar(as we learn shortly) and what do you do at bars...drink... so while he's drinking he is remembering how things used to be (again we have almost all been here with him). He's just thinking.... which leads to him getting pissed off about it all (look down) "Next thing I know My hearts broke My hand it's much the same" The way stuff is presented is key. Notice when alex is screaming this he's getting 'frantic' if you will.... When your pissed off you say things fast normaly... this is one way we could assume hes PISSED. "my hand, its much the same"(broken) the most common hand injurys come from fights so thats possible (remember he's at a bar). Goin off a little and not totaly sure of this but its kinda safe to assume he got pissed from drinking/thinking and got in a fight. the next line he says he tried to just drink it away but it didnt work "I did my best to drink you away"< this is said in a "calm" way.... chorus again We can assume brandon is singing from alex's POV now because (mainly) the first 2 lines upcoming. and how he shifts from an almost-scream to a calmer singing... "You are poison on man's lips Lured in by the curves of your hips Come here boy, stand by me Look my way, have another drink" She takes advantage of him being drunk(and getting drunker) and her being hot... "I should have got up I should have got up and left you" Alex is drunk at this point. The girl in question knows there done but if they have sex again hes going to beat the shit out of himself for it. and she knows that "And I will never ever be you're lover again As far as I’m concerned, we are not even friends This may not seem too subtle to you The point I'm trying to make is we are completely through" Alex sobers up and realizes what she did, and he just laughs it off and is like "fuck you" listen to the guitar solo with that story line in mind (youd be surprised how well solos fit with storylines sometimes) when they repeat the bridge i think its alex just laughting off what happed... the repeat is where im confused but other than that its prety simple to understand |
