i know its a site for interpretations so here it is. i felt a few meanings but one of the interesting connections was drug abuse. in particular, prescribed. he subscribes to this pain. its his last dinner. this meaning that he has a pill popping addiction. he is raping all around him means that he is taking many pills at once until "the last drop is behind you." the drop could mean the pill dropping into his mouth being hte last pill he has. 200 couches could mean 200 pills that makes him feel good/later making him sleep. the grim rite is his way of expressing his dark feelings towards his addiction. it has become a dark ritual that has made him "stray" from his lines. |

What i got from this song is that they are trying to relate the new fashion/ corporate lifestyles to religion and how people rebel at first but can never escape. Somewhere in the world this mannequin belongs to a lifestyle that is flourishing and on some weird mission to tell "older western towns" that their way of life is "melting." Melting is a slow process. The chorus is the mannequin talking. The townspeople in fright do not understand and react and dump him in another town nearby where we reassembles his body and restates his belief. Kind of like the Romans and the Christians. Jesus was resurrected after his death. Not saying that the Jesus simile is accurate but it has a slight reference that can be argued. |
