Jann Arden – All The Days Lyrics 15 years ago
Wow, this is a tremendously meaningful song. Isn't The phrase "When I am grey And somewhat vague and too confused I know I'll still remember you" really everyone's goal - not to forgot the ones they love? And, of course, not to be forgotten?

This song speaks with an honesty and tenderness that is absolutely extraordinary. To me when she refers to "memories we thought would linger Disappear" she is talking about regret, and how when we grow old we get to a point where we forget about our regrets and focus on the kindnesses around us. Suddenly regret has no power over you, which is immensely liberating, and time itself has a new meaning..."all the days will wrap around our fingers"...

Even though I've never been much of a Jann Arden fan, it's such a magical sentiment from an entertainer who has excelled at hitting all the right notes in more ways than one. I really hope this song catches on because it is remarkably moving.

Sondre Lerche – Modern Nature Lyrics 17 years ago
For the last five years Elliott Smith has been the sole source of incredible, heart-breaking, thouht-provoking music. At long last he has a challenger in Sondre Lerche. While both of them have profoundly meaningful lyrics, touching sentiments and remarkable vocals, Sondre is a much more positive artists in that his hope appear to be justified - it really is just a matter of time before he finds the love he's looking for. With Smith each song is a painful journey into self-doubt and near-obsession, but one that is often worth taking if for no other reason than to find solace in shared sorrows. Sondre comes across as the more empassioned artists as a result of this difference, but both of them are telling the same incredible stories in their songs, albeit in very different ways.

I wonder if any of you have noticed this odd parrallel between Smith and Lerche?
