| Headlights – Catch Them All Lyrics | 15 years ago |

I think "catch them all" is referring to tears. "Don't let it fall I can taste the salt on your cheek It's just like the sea, but not as deep You can catch them all One by one they make their way towards the ground But I can't see my way around" Beautiful. :) |

| Mates of State – Punchlines Lyrics | 17 years ago |

whenever i listen to this song, i am struck with the urge to just get the hell out of dodge. "punchlines" makes me think that things are getting old in the area of life the voice is in, and they're thinking that it's time to get out and be free. especially the breakdown... "I've been thinking it's an afterthought Get into the car and you aim it at the sun, boy Can't you hear me in the aftermath Get into the car and you point it at the west" it lends the idea that they don't know where they're going, but they're going. and kori's scream...maybe a scream of joy at reaching liberation? i don't know, i don't always look to the lyrics to get meaning for their songs--the tone and beat of this is what gets me. it could be something completely different from what i think, but that's why i love Mates of State. |
