watch it live - that's definitely the chorus, although i think its "never once giving in" as well. it sounds different because of the layering and vocal effects. |

| Hot Chip – Ready for the Floor Lyrics | 16 years ago |
what is up with some weirdo claiming that the song is about closet homosexuality in every goddamn hot chip song on here? HOT CHIP IS NOT GAY, NONE OF THEM. Google "Hot Chip Gay" and read the interview where one of the explicitly states NONE of them are gay, Alexis has been married for years. He also clarifies the "number one guy" is a reference to the Batman movie, and how it's playing with the idea of genders, it was supposed to be a mix of a word that sounded like "guy" and "girl" but it just ended up sounding like "guy." |

| Hot Chip – Wrestlers Lyrics | 16 years ago |
imyourfan, you idiot, why would you make that shit up? Hot Chip is not gay. DIRECT FROM AN INTERVIEW: ------------- TNG: Are any of your members gay? FM: No, but people are always rumoring that one of us is. Sorry to disappoint. TNG: I figured, but “Boy from School” is so much about being different, and the “You’re my number one guy” refrain in “Ready for the Floor” could give off that impression too. FM: There’s definitely issues with gender in “Boy from School,” there’s something to do with sexuality in the song. It’s not someone coming out and saying “I’m gay,” it’s more blurring the kind of boundaries in pop songs between girls and boys. It’s the same in “Ready for the Floor.” Initially when he sang the line “I’m your number one guy,” which is just a reference to the original Michael Keaton “Batman” movie, he tried to say a word that was somewhere between girl and guy at the same time. So it was a kind of weird little sound, but in the end it just came out like guy. And everyone was like ‘Ooh, is he gay, is he coming out?” and its just like, ‘No , he’s been married for two years.” |

| Hot Chip – And I Was A Boy From School Lyrics | 16 years ago |
wow imyourfan, that is SO wrong and far-fetched, lol. the boy from school "wrestling all his fools" isn't some kind of secret plot of gayness, it's probably just a simple metaphor that a boy is maturing and mentally and emotionally wrestling with the foolish and childish instincts of his previous life. He's wresting with the fools inside himself. I do listen to Hot Chip and in no way are the majority of the songs about that. The girl "blaming all the words she learned from home" you also took in a bizarre and incorrect way. She's blaming all the words she learned from home. She is placing blame on all the profane words she is using on her poor homelife. "Nothing could keep her a child." I see no indication of drugs WHATSOEVER in this song, I hate when people just say "DRUGS!! ITS ABOUT DRUGS!!" How exactly is this about drugs at all? I don't know about you guys, but it's pretty obvious to me that this song is about the relationship between child and the later adult - looking back at your previous school life. It's about that point in your life when all the innocence starts to drain out of your life, "nothing could keep you a child." You're "learning words" you shouldn't be using, "wrestling fools" inside yourself as you mature. And how when you grow older (second verse) you look back at your younger life and the people you had met (such as 'the girl from school') and how everything has changed for the worse. You tried to recapture that innocence , but you didn't have long. You tried, but you don't belong anymore. |

| The Killers – Neon Tiger Lyrics | 17 years ago |
CORRECT LYRICS: Far from the evergreen of old Assam Far from the rainfall on the trails of Saigon Straight from the poster town of scorn and ritz We bring you the wilder side of gold and glitz Run, neon tiger, there's a lot on your mind They promised just to pet you, but don't you let them get you Away, away, away Under the heat of the southwest sun You took to the spotlight like a diamond ring You came from the woodwork with the hopes they might Redeem themselves from poor decisions to win big Run, neon tiger, there's a lot on your mind They'll strategize and name you, but don't you let them tame you You're far too pure and bold To suffer the strain of the hangman's hold I don't wanna be kept, I don't wanna be caged, I don't wanna be damned, oh hell I don't wanna be broke, I don't wanna be saved, I don't wanna be S.O.L. Give me rolling hills, so tonight can be the night that I can send them upon a thousand thrills Mister, cut me some slack, 'cause I don't wanna go back, I want a new day and age Come on girls and boys, everyone make some noise! Run, neon tiger, there's a price on your head They'll hunt you down and gut you, I'll never let them touch you Away, away, away I'm begging you neon tiger, roar Under the heat of Under the heat of Under the heat of the southwest sun Neon Tiger There's a lot on your mind |

| The Killers – Spaceman Lyrics | 17 years ago |
CORRECT LYRICS Oh-oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh-oh-oh It started with a low light Next thing I knew, they ripped me from my bed And then they took my blood type It left a strange impression in my head You know that I was hoping That I could leave this star-crossed world behind But when they cut me open I guess I changed my mind And you know I might have just flown too far from the floor this time, cuz' they're calling me by my name And they're zippin' white light beams Disregarding bombs and satellites And that was the turning point That was one lonely night The star maker says "it ain't so bad" The dream maker's gonna make you mad The spaceman says "everybody look down it's all in your mind" But now I'm back at home and I'm looking forward to this life I live You know it's gonna haunt me So hesitation to this life I give You think you might cross over You're caught between the devil and the deep blue sea You better look it over Before you make that leap And you know I'm fine But I hear those voices at night sometimes They justify my claim And the public don't dwell on my transmission Cuz' it wasn't televised But it was a turning point, oh what a lonely night The star maker says "it ain't so bad" The dream maker's gonna make you mad The spaceman says "everybody look down it's all in your mind" My global position systems are vocally addressed They say the Nile used to run from east to west They say the Nile used to run From east to west I'm fine, but I hear those voices at night sometimes The star maker says "it ain't so bad" The dream maker's gonna make you mad The spaceman says "everybody look down it's all in your mind" It's all in your mind It's all in my mind Oh-oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh-oh-oh |

| The Killers – Losing Touch Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Console me in my darkest hour Convince me that the truth is always grey Caress me in your velvet chair Conceal me from the ghost you cast away I ain't in no hurry, you go run and tell your friends I'm losing touch Fill their heads with rumors of impending doom It must be true Console me in my darkest hour And tell me that you always hear my cries I wonder what you've got conspired I'm sure it dons a consolation prize I ain't in no hurry, you go run and tell your friends I'm losing touch Fill the night with stories, the legend grows Of how you got lost, but you made your way back home You sold your soul like a Roman Vagabond, yeah I heard you found a wishing well In the city Console me in my darkest hour And you throw me down I ain't in no hurry, you go run and tell your friends I'm losing touch Fill your crown with rumors Impending doom It must be true But you made your way back home You sold your soul, like a Roman Vagabond And about how you got lost, but you made your way back home You went and sold your soul, an allegiance dead and gone I'm losing touch |
