i dunno guys. to me this song isn't about being in a relationship, it's about trying to start one. he's trying to be with a girl who has a lot of issues and doesn't think she's ready for a relationship and needs to wait and sort things out. that's what he's asking her to give up and let go of. he's telling her that he isn't giving up on her and asking her not to turn away from him. the lines "don't fall for mistakes that i've made, don't turn away, i understand your ways..." are telling her that he's been through what she's going through. that's also why the second verse (about her) mirrors the first verse (about him). i think the "if you promise to forget, i'll try and find a way to make mistakes" line has more to do with proving to her he isn't perfect and doesn't expect her to be either. |
