wow that's a really insightful interpretation! well done! makes perfect sense, particularly the imagery of 9/11. after reading your comment i listened to the song with fresh ears and WOW....everything fell into place. I like how at first it doesn't sound like a song with a political agenda. |

| Lighthouse Family – High Lyrics | 17 years ago |

very sweet song....perfect for making you feel uplifted. i don't think it has a specific meaning...just about a person assuring another person that nothing bad lasts forever and there's always something beyond where you are in your life. I liiiiike it. |

| Streetlight Manifesto – A Moment of Silence Lyrics | 17 years ago |

definately a favourite SM song not really sure of my interpretation of the lyrics though if it really is about kalnoky and catch 22 that's kinda disappointing, using a song that people will inevitably listen to as a means of delivering a personal vendetta to the masses seems a little catty. I agree with mrpants5060...it's a song about the people who live life on the fringe of what's normal. anyway, kudos on the tune and melody. V awesome |

dudes, a word of advice death cab are just a band. they do not have political connections at all i don't think. it's just a catchy song....all of you yobbos who try to read deeper meanings into songs need to go out and get laid once in a while, k i saw a scene unfold....hmmm, what's that trying to say exactly =_= |

| Linkin Park – In The End Lyrics | 17 years ago |

a friend and i used this song in our SOR assignment about the environment and how humans are greedy and just take whatever they want from the earth, without thinking about what the world will be like when there is nothing left to take. we found an awesome video on youtube with this song in in, and at first we were like, meh, the song doesn't fit but we can turn down the song. then we listened to it and SHIT MAN, it fits perfectly.....have a listen and see for yourself! |

| Maroon 5 – She Will Be Loved Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
wow...just listened to this song for the first time in ages and i got this impression. i think he's talking about a friend/girlfriend (i'm thinking more best friend/soul mate situation actually) who was raped or sexually abused. That line...'look for the girl with the broken smile'...to me that just seemed so, so clear. she's been raped, which makes her feel very alone and unloved, her friend wants to be there for her ( i don't mind spending everyday out on your corner in the pouring rain), to let her know she's not alone (i know where you hide, alone in your car) and to hold her hand when it gets hard ( i want to make you feel beautiful, catch her every time she falls) if the song is based on reality, it's very sad but it's so touching that he wants to make it all ok for her. every girl should have a friend like that |

| Modest Mouse – Alone Down There Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
i love modest mouse....i don't always understand what they're saying but this one was pretty clear. i think (just my opinion) that this song is about helping out a friend with depression...i just got that impression straight away. One time i was in a really bad place, and a my best friend (a fellow MM fan!) wouldn't leave me alone till he saw me smile. he said, and i quote...."i don't want you to be alone' the fact that he knew enough about me to quote MM lifted me up straight away! |

| The National – Fake Empire Lyrics | 17 years ago |

Lol my interpretation is nothing about America or anything like you guys have said. But that doesn't matter, songs are meant to mean different things to different things to different people, that's my music is my life. Anyhoo... Upon first hearing these lyrics I'm like 'wow, they're high!' I mean, 'put a little something in our lemonade' was my first clue and then 'we're half awake in our fake empire' dunno if you've been high, but last week i smoked some pretty potent stuff and let me tell you, boys and girls, it is perfectly reasonable to imagine, under the influence of some....substances, that you are your own little world. Your own fake empire |
