for me, this song is about a girl in love with a guy who doesn't give her as much as she gives to him. in fact, he's not in love with her, he's rather using her in their relationship, has her as a crutch but now she realizes that this is not what she wants and tells him that she will no longer be his "stepping stone" so he'd better destroy her once and for all ("take it all") or just leave ("or leave me alone") because now she can live on her own ("I'm standing upright on my own"). this is such a beautiful song - I can relate to it completely. |
