| A Silver Mt. Zion – Built Then Burnt (Hurrah! Hurrah!) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I love ASMZ; I love these lyrics; I love the music that supports this song. However I really dislike their choice of how the lyrics were performed. The "child" in this song doesn't sound like a child. In fact, the first time I heard it, I thought they just used a pitch-shift to make someone in the group sound like a kid. The inflection and presentation doesn't reflect how a kid would sound. It's too affected. The lyrics are coming from a place of utter simplicity, so the choice of using a child makes perfect sense. I just wish it would have sounded more like a real child, truly expressing the amazement, optimism, and love of our existance (through the ignorance of knowing limits; not from the adult disgust of unrealized potential.) | |
