It actually is about Courtney Love. The first verse describes her personality, the second describes her affect on Kurt Cobain and how he ended up commiting suicide. The final verse is about her life after Kurt died. |

blinkfan is actually right. brandon boyde wrote the song about his hand. something ended up happening to a nerve in his wrist or hand and his hand went numb for a few days i think. brandon says in the song "i'm beginning to notice how much this feels like a waking limb," and when he says goodbye, he's saying goodbye to the numb feeling.
the way brandon wrote this though was in a much deeper state of mind than that. it was written so that it could be interpreted in many ways, but that was his meaning. |
