Toad the Wet Sprocket – Windmills Lyrics 13 years ago
I think there are some not so subtle references to the Messianic age here. Word with out end, it's all worth waiting for, something you won't show, tell the passengers we're going home. This describes Olam haba or the world to come. I further think this song references the tribulation period leading to the world to come - the darkest hour, seeking shelter and finaly, water to repair meaning the mikvah or baptism of repentence. Shalom

All That Remains – Do Not Obey Lyrics 17 years ago
I think this is a commentary about the general paradigm shift in human beliefs. People no longer take the bible seriously. Phil is a Christian so this would make sense. "I'd write my name so the king could see", I think means he has his name written in the book of life. "I will follow the true declaration", This would seem to be the bible. I think the bulk of the song is about disregarding "truths" of a secular humanistic world. "Do not obey", "They shape the lie in schools and TV" and "What we read and see drawn before us is a lie". Strongly seem to point to the general acceptance of atheism (or at best agnosticism) and evolution.

P.O.D. – Goodbye For Now Lyrics 17 years ago
I suspect that this refers to Revelation 5:9 "And they sang a new song saying, Thou art worthy to take the scroll and to open the seals thereof". This would be the answer to "goodbye for now". Meaning (I believe) goodbye for now, on this earth, I am anticipating a time when we will singing a new song together in heaven... Just a thought.
