| Sonata Arctica – The End Of This Chapter Lyrics | 17 years ago |

Well, I want to say that I mostly agree with wolf's comments, but I don't think he was ever stable, or actually in a relationship with this girl. I think he was merely a stalker. I actually think "I gave you my love, every DIME" means that he called her all the time(back when phone booths cost a dime to use). Hence the PHONE conversation at the beginning of the song In other words: Chapter 1: I 'loved' you, I called you all the time, but they told me that was a crime (because I'm a stalker). Do you remember? (Hence the phone conversation at the start). Chapter 2: The promise THEY made were the police, who promised he would stay away from her. (Restraining order) But he's now toying with the idea of breaking it. But he can't find her. Chapter 3: He's either crazy, or literally lost her. Or both. Hence why he travelled the dark skies without a light (analogy for a sailing without stars to guide you.) The irony is in him calling HER vain, when really it's pride that causes most stalking behavior. Now, he no longer loves her, (I think. or she doesn't love him) but he wants to go back to the time when he thought she loved him (or he loved her). Chapter 4: You have a boyfriend. Look, he gives you actual love, not fear. I want to kill you because of that. Look! I'm outside! Chapter 5: I'm sorry. I tried to do what I was supposed to, but I can't handle it. I'm mad!(Think of this as the stalker's equivalent of a drunken apology to his ex.) Chapter 6: I agree with wolf here, that it's quite vague, but I think it's quite obvious that he plans to kill her, or is trying not to. "I light you one candle". In Catholicism, a candle is representative of a person's soul/redemption, and is lit when one dies. Conversely, it could be an Othello reference (put out the light, and put out the light.) So what he's saying is: I'm here, lying beside you, not the man you thought was here. But you're 'mine' so I have the right. And then the line "It kills me, it will kill you too" is pretty damning, as is "Kill me, please kill me before...". I would say this means that he DID actually kill her, and wants to die before he actually realizes that his 'love' is no longer there. But either way. I do disagree with those who say that this is a man who was actually in an actual relationship with this woman. I think he is a simple stalker, if such can be called simple, who then goes up to actually, or preparing to kill someone. (And probably did kill her boyfriend/husband/lover). |

| Sonata Arctica – Fly With The Black Swan Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Drasiana, the "you" in that verse is the "you" who bought him the drink. I'm pretty sure that he (the narrator) became a/the black swan, (Grim Reaper/Cygnus/Whatever), or thinks he did and is now telling this story in a pub somewhere. And the "you" from both of those verses is the "you" from the very last line... who then becomes the black swan. | |
| Sonata Arctica – Out in the Fields (Gary Moore cover) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| This is actually a cover of a Gary Moore song. And I'm pretty sure it's about the fact that basically we're all humans, no matter our skin color, religion, language, nationality. "So why fight?" is what the song is asking. | |
