McFly – Corrupted Lyrics 17 years ago
I LOVE this song. amazing.

Seems to be about a relationship that doesn't work but because of this works so well. Both people know it's not good from them but thats exactly why they want it, to feel that danger and life that comes from being so close to the edge of falling.

McFly – Do Ya Lyrics 17 years ago
yeah agreed,
A couple who are in the first phases of love where everything is exciting and they can't stand a few minutes without the other person there and the heart racing happiness that comes from hearing the other person say they feel the same way.
He's just asking questions so he can hear she loves him too and feel that rush of giddiness every time his wishes are confirmed.

Tilly and the Wall – The Freest Man Lyrics 17 years ago
I don't know who Conor Oberst is really so i have no idea whether it could be said to be about him or not, i just love this song as i came across the CSS remix version. The original is alright but the remix is one of my favourite songs.

To me this song is a girl singing to a friend who she is watching fall deeper and deeper into his troubles and his broken life and feels she wants to help but isn't sure how.
In the first verse shes saying what a lovely guy he is, how his heart is golden but that his troubles have encased it in glass and the gold can't be felt any more just the fragile glass.
The next verse seems to describe him singing about to himself about himself. He is either actually singing or this is a metaphor for the way he thinks and thinks again and again (his voice and echoes coarse) about his life and what hes going to do until theres nothing left to think about and its being described as a song because the way he thinks about it is dreamlike and artistic rather than the realistic beautiful-tragedy way the girl singing seems to think about him.

Next shes making excuses for him (he is pure of soul/he just gets lost sometimes in his chemicals) *chemicals referring to drugs* and describing her fear and care for him when she thinks about him on his own and wandering the streets, vulnerable and unaware of his surroundings. When she talks about rewinding the tapes shes saying how futile it all is that nothing seems to be able to change whatever he does to help himself. Then shes almost begging him to remember the days when he'd said he would change and walk away from everything holding him back- she's telling him he can still become the freest man.

A bell jar is something you put over an object to protect it when it is on display. Maybe suggests everyone just looks on at him without helping, as if he's entertainment? shows him as physically separate from the rest of the world? She talks about how hes kidding himself that everything is fine because he thinks that if he were to admit his problems (upset his conscience) he would still be alone because no one would help him. The girl singing is begging him once again to tell her how to help because she wants to catch him but doesn't know how. Saying she doesn't want him gone refers to him falling so far that he cannot come back.

for the next few lines she again is carrying on the reassurance and the begging to let them help him and says "the heaviness will steal away your breath" which to me seems to say that his problems will overwhelm him and, in the end, kill him.

She ends by telling him to stand up against it all and fight himself out of his problems because he can still become the freest man, despite all thats trying to stop him.
