Correct meaning already posted. However, you can make it mean anything you want it to, really. Those who are hell-bent on proving that every song made is about politics, they can say it's about communism. For those who want to say it's about heart-break, it can be in there too, for those who want to say it's about conspiracy, that's in there aswell. But.. in the end it's just about how society in general is. |

Dexter.. Yawn. Onto the song, rather than suicide as sleepysongbird suggested, I get the impression she's willing to murder someone to keep the secret.. a secret. It has more of a murder theme than a suicide theme to it. |

I have to second Samurai's motion. But.. when I first heard it I got the impression that everyone was at a party when they had heard that "Miss Lucy" had died, perhaps a close friend or a relative. Not really, sure, I'm willing to go with Samurai's interpretation though. |

You people can agree, or disagree it doesn't really matter to me. However I feel that this song is aimed toward everyone in the world, not just a particular region of the world. I think it mentions some of the world's problems that have been going on for years, and ones that happen under our noses with out us even noticing or caring to notice for that matter. From what I've heard, I think everyone has put a decent interpretation so far, whether or not you disagree with one another. However if you think about it while reading the lyrics, I think it's a mix of government corruption or downfall, the way the government/president feels the need to take everything for themselves, but in my opinion it also depicts human smuggling.. Everyone knows that human smuggling is an issue on a global scale, the people are kidnapped or tricked into going somewhere, they're sold for prostitution or worse, most of them die due to being mistreated, used as toys if you will. Some or even most governments are aware of the smuggling that is occuring, and some people within the government have a dirty hand in the business aswell. But.. that's just my opinion. |
