I always thought that As I Lay Dying's lyrics were thoughtful and could be interpreted in many ways. I think that many of your visions and interpretations of the song could be accurate. We could all come with different meanings for a song depending on our experiences in life. Still, I wanted to post what Tim Lambesis himself thought when he wrote the song. Here goes: "Forsaken" is about those people who we turn our back on and try to pretend like they don’t exist. In my case, I was picturing orphans. We turn our backs on them, and while we do so we tend to chase luxuries that will bring us a sense of comfort. Unfortunately, luxuries fail to bring us the feeling of family that even someone else’s child would bring us. So, while we’ve forsaken the poor and oppressed of this world in pursuit of "happiness" we too ended up alone. |

WHat? Still no comments on this one! One of their oldest! I really like the intro on this one! Elvenking is a band that does not have the fame they should, which may be why they are so great! They are not pushed to create some commercial metal |

This song is AMAZING, and yes,at 2:55 it gets even more amazing. The guitar and drums are just too sick! I also agree that this is about the second coming. |

Such a great song, I'm surprised now one commented it yet! I can't find any deep meaning in it though, except that we have to live our life as ,much as possible as it may end really suddenly. We burn our lives. |
