I feel like this song is about 2 people who had an on/off relationship "Could it be that everything goes around by chance Or only one way that it was always meant to be" and they're wondering why/how they always end up together in the end, if it is just chance or if its meant to be "You always know the perfect thing to say I know what I should do but I just can't walk away" and even though one person keeps getting hurt by the other, and in their head it makes sense to just leave it alone, they also know deep down that the other person is right for them ("always know the perfect thing to say") "Oh God, please don't tell me this has been in vain I need answers for what all the waiting I've done means" and when the 2 people broke up one of them was just like "lets give it time" or something like that, and now one persons been waiting, and they feel like they NEED to know what the other person wants "I know it but can't help feeling differently" <-- one person cant help but love the other "I loved you And I should have said it" this part really gets me...it seems to me like the reason they broke up in the first place, was because one person was SURE they wanted the other, but the other wasnt. and now the roles have switched, and the person who was unsure before KNOWS what they want, but now the other person who USED to be sure is unsure... if that makes sense... lol and the final part of the song... "I can't help it baby This is who I am Sorry but I can't just go turn off how I feel" <-- the one person cant help but love the other, no matter what they've gone trhough and stuff "You kill me You build me up but just to watch me break" <--it kills the person to be holding on a waiting, always guessing if the other wants them "I know what I should do but I just can't walk away" <-- logically it makes sense to leave this person because theyve gone trhough so much tough shit, but they cant leave because its meant to be and they love them --- I'm in a situation like this...and everyone around us is like "wtf you guys have had so many problems, and you keep fucking each other over, and now you're trying to make it work again?!?!" but its like. we just keep finding ourselves together again, after so much extreme back and forth |
