Jamie said at a live show a few years ago that it's about struggling with the notion that a cadaver has no identity or personality - it's just a lump of flesh and bones. "no history in histology" / "no biography in biology" - implying there's no story being told by a corpse, it's just a lump of cells that form a body. it's a tragedy. i don't mean to be offensive at all, but these lyrics are so, so, so wrong. almost every line.. have about some of these: i want to rewrite aristotle but you can't rewrite something you never read. so don't blame me, please forgive me. it's an artform to plagerize. "cut me well cut you too." your mouth could.. it could build your life on a pile of trash. it could build your life on a pile of shit. it could build your life on quicksand. it doesn't matter. you'll sink. i was never good at being mean. your squalor is self-prescribed. sweat it out. sitting down. you should learn to check your pulse and this is how you'll learn to live alone. |
