I don't think its necessarily about anything in particular. The words and phrases seem to be too random and varied. Its just fun with rhymes. But maybe I'm just not very good at finding the real meaning. |

OK so the repeated, morbid message is that he is happy to die and he'd "welcome the chance to meet my maker" ect. ect. But why? Why are the lyrics about being so keen to die?? There doesn't seem to be a reason. Is he just sick of life? Was he dumped by another eccentric, transvestite, junkie? Or is it just meaingless words... Probably the latter. (By the way, I really enloy listening to this song and this whole album) |

um... I think the lyrics are trying to say that something good is going to happen - but of coure that's open to interprtaion. A great song to lift your spirits and some very profound and detailed lyrics. |

This is a great song to listen to and the lyrics can probably invoke sentimental feelings from almost anyone about their childhood days. I would have thought Madness would be more popular than this - maybe they were at the time and my theory is that they are one of thoae bands that is forgotten better than it remembered because they were not a high budget, world-touring band. Still sounds as good today as ever - as do several other Madness songs. |
