Here's link to the song, it hasn't got a title yet but I Was An Eagle seems fitting http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bXV8Zmcb7OE&feature=related |

| Laura Marling – Pray For Me Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| One of her very best songs so far, much less affected than some of the stuff on A Creature I Don't Know. I hope she keeps going in this direction for the 4th album | |
| Archers of Loaf – Might Lyrics | 15 years ago |

I hear: "Get so bored with your radio, bored with your video You've got to mock your power, just to let 'em know You've got to mock your thing just to mock my thing" If I've got the "your" bit right then it becomes really knowing, like you've got to criticize yourself before anyone else can do it. Or it's about not caring about success or status or anything, making sure that people know you're better than that. Pretty much all their songs are about the indie scene anyway, and this is just like a more personal version of that |

| Pavement – Hands Off The Bayou Lyrics | 15 years ago |

Hey, that's sounds pretty plausible actually, good job. "I learned a lot about the fiction ya tossed" fits into that perfectly, like someone saying they've learnt the truth and can now see through all the lies that every spreads (about religion maybe, if the song is set mostly in the South?) Now I can't tell whether if bong or bomb either, I think yours may *just* be right. Most played Pavement song as well, totally addictive. |

| Baby Dayliner – You Push, I'll Go Lyrics | 15 years ago |

It's kinda bittersweet to me really. Like he thinks life isn't all that bd actually, but even so he's always leaving ("You push, I'll go") and maybe he's just a bit aimless, not really sure what t do in life. Great song though, once I found it I listened like 40 times in a row, and danced my ass off |

Well, those were embarrassing mistakes. Though, to be honest, I actually prefer my versions - starting it on a plane shows how the bad stuff can get to you even when you're trying to escape from it all, the rose/lollipop combo is odd but somehow quite romantic and evocative and "your fate will still feel and taste the same" just sounded really cool to me. Might take it for a song of my own now ... As for meaning it seems pretty simple - someone looking back on their life, feeling bittersweet about all the stuff that they've left behind. |

Yeah, just worked that out like yesterday coincidentally. Also sorted the "band"/"fan" mix-up and the title. Still not sure about the tuning like though ... |

| Blur – You're So Great Lyrics | 15 years ago |

This sounds so much like a Guided By Voices song it's unreal. I mean it's still a great song - only heard it for the first time today and I already think it's one of their best. It's just that the style, the singing, the lo-fi-ness all make me think GBV. Something like a combo of these two - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kvC3TYWSCXM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kKvGiRZAXAE |

| Jamie T – On The Green Lyrics | 16 years ago |

This is his only straight-forward song to date, I think. Simple murder ballad, but full of this great energy and lovely lyrical twists. |
