I'm pretty sure this is about his attending the wedding of a friend, possible ex girlfriend. It's one of my favorite songs. Also I think its "They floated downstream like swans in the sun

I think he (like eveyone) has friends that he hasn't seen for a long time and hopes they are doing well. Even if he hasn't stayed in touch with them, he hopes they have stayed in touch with eachother. Maybe he has reconnected with them through myspace or facebook and is talking about observing their lives but not really being able to be a part of their lives any more. (definitely alms, not arms) |
