| Interesting version, different meaning, I personally prefer this one. Whereas Billie Holiday (etc.)'s version describes someone committing suicide to be with their deceased lover, this version (in my opinion) tells the tale of being in love with someone, and believing they feel the same way, only to have your dreams shattered when it turns out they don't, and taking your life because you were (and always will be) so madly in love with them. Very tragic song. | |

"I know what the song means accoring to the Stone Sour, but the first time I heard it, I interpereted it to be someone who is watching the life of someone else he desperately wants to be with, and this person not knowing their feelings. I'm not saying that they weren't friends or never talked, but that he looks at this person lustfully, and they don't know it. He looks at them through the glass, and it seems that despite his efforts, he can't get through to them. He gets acustomed to this lifestyle, and before he knows it, it becomes his daily routine, and he becomes used to the daily desires and lust. The person remains oblivious to his feeling, or chooses to ignore them." Just signed up to say, Giantsfan, that's exactly what I think when I hear it too. couldn't put it better. Awesome song. |
