Sick Puppies – Master of the Universe Lyrics 15 years ago
I'm actually impressed by this song. Lyrically, it uses some of the same methods as Modest Mouse to create its imagery. If you don't know what I mean, I'm talking about how the metaphors are picked apart and used literally.

I think this song is about atheism. the line
"Well God said somethin' but he didn't mean it, everyone's life ends but no one ever completes it," means that god was lying about heaven and there really is neither heaven nor hell. and since most people want to go to heaven, "everyone's life ends but no one ever completes it" means that a christian's main goal in life is to go to heaven, and if there is no heaven, then their lives are never completed. and the line "Dry or wet ice, they both melt and you're equally cheated" could mean that heaven or hell, whatever you did in life, you'll die just the same and end up nowhere. This could also explain the lines

"Well, an endless ocean landing on an endless desert

Well, it's funny as hell, but no one laughs when they get there

If you can't see the thin air then why the hell should you care?"

"Well, an endless ocean landing on an endless desert" could mean that an empty existence in life will just keep up as empty nonexistence. "Well, it's funny as hell, but no one laughs when they get there" means that it's totally ironic that people would refrain from doing things to try to get to some wonderful place that doesn't exist instead of just going for it and living life. "If you can't see the thin air then why the hell should you care?" could mean that if you can't see heaven, why should you really care if it's there or not? why would you take the risk of not knowing and why shouldn't do all those things that you want to?
