I think this song is pretty much about two guys and a girl, and like the girl is with one guy but the other dude likes her and doesn't think the other dude is anything special. In the part where the song is like: "Word's on the streets and it's on the news: I'm not gonna teach him how to dance with you He's got two left feet and he bites my moves I'm not gonna teach him how to dance, dance, dance, dance! The second I do, I know we're gonna be through I'm not gonna teach him how to dance with you He don't suspect a thing, I wish he'd get a clue I'm not gonna teach him how to dance, dance, dance, dance!" He doesn't want to make the guy look better in her eyes, so anything that makes him better than the other dude is like good for him. Teaching him to dance would make him lose any special talent that he had over the other dude since the other dude is bad at dancing. This probably is like not just about dancing, but in general.
