i also agree with the thing about finding Christ. i actually thought of the line "if death is victory, how afraid of life can we be?" in a different way... I interpreted it as heaven is "victory" for Christians; we all want to go there when we die to be with our Lord. so if dying leads you to heaven, or "victory", why would you be afraid of anything of this Earth? |

| I really think that the title is supposed to be palms read. Obviously it's not a typo, they wouldn't let a mistake that obvious be put onto a CD sold to the masses. I personally believe that it's a little bit of wordplay on Arif's part, because the song talks about evolution, which completely contradicts Christianity; thus, instead of psalms being read about the history of earth, it's palms being read. He probably just wanted to change up the psalms to something else, and palms just kind of fit. | |

After reading KhaalKis comment, i am thoroughly convinced that the song was named sequoia throne to sort of say that we're taking nature and everything the earth has given us, and conquering it, or using it as a "throne." And i agree with everyone who says that this song is about the human race ruining our planet. I really like the line "to see us scared in the reflection of their oil-black eyes," because it seems to me that hes saying, why would aliens come down here, if they were a superior species, just to see us run scared from them. This song is amazing. I didn't realize he could growl that deeply. |
