One of the standout tracks from Trout Mask, and propbably from the whole back catalogue. I'd agree with the above posts that this song is about God's dissolutionment with the human race (I mean, we are pretty terrible, I wouldn't be surprised if we did give God the blues). The theme of disintegrating humanity and the wish to escape these horrors is reoccuring throughout the entire album (Frownland, Sweet Sweet Bulbs, Ant Man Bee etc.). It's hard not to agree with the Captain's sentiments. |

I can't believe no one has commented yet. This is one of beefhearts best songs, in fact maybe the best???
The garden of the song represents eden or a similar paradise, and everything outside the garden is full of sin and anguish. The song is pleading that people join the narrator in the garden paradise, instead of residing in the "sea of negativity".

Its not about blowjobs (as many believe) its about dropping acid. Decals are small pictures or drawings; tabs of acid always have a cartoon picture on. You take acid by placing the tab on your tongue, thus the reference to licking and the like "she stuck out her tongue and the fun begun" |
